This is a drawing in graphite and color pencil (Prismacolor) on heavy paper, 9x12 in. It is the first of a series modeled on each having the same shape of the head and the shape of its features. However, the others in the series displace those same features on the head, resulting in some surprising differences in the individual appearances. One of the things I enjoy doing these is captioning or titling the pieces, which I do on a whim mostly AFTER the drawing is done. When I had the drawing done in my hand I saw Colonel Havok and heard his mantra. (I think the parodied sentiments are fortunately in the minority.) But you see before the drawing was finished I didn't know it was going to be Colonel Havok.
